Flight Lines is an ongoing computer vision project that monitors our skies as they evolve in response to human influence. As the composition of Earth’s atmosphere shifts, the weather changes, and so do the machines, animals and inanimate objects that populate the sky. This iteration of Flight Lines combines SP Weather Station data, global atmospheric carbon dioxide trends and video documentation of the sky above New York City. Using custom Processing software to translate the video documentation into frame by frame greyscale images reveals details and patterns that are often hidden from a casual observer.
